I suggest that you book as early as possible in your pregnancy, however, I do take bookings at any time. To ensure that I can fit every session in within the 10-day time frame (after the baby is born), I suggest that you book as early as possible during your pregnancy.
When you make a booking I will take note of your due date and ensure that I have availability around this date. When your baby arrives, I ask that contact me the day after they are born (if possible) and we will then schedule a date for your session.
Ideally, If Mum & Bub are both well, I like to capture your session within the first 10 days after birth. Sometimes this is not possible, and that is ok. We will schedule your appointment at your earliest convenience.
Newborn Sessions are 9.00 am-9.30 am.

No, everything is provided for you
Yes, you are welcome to visit the studio (by appointment) prior to your session to choose props and outfits. Or you can choose them at the beginning of your session. You will also be sent a link to our digital backdrop catalogue and I will request that you choose 2-3 of these.
Newborn safety is paramount. I have trained with some of Australia’s top Newborn Photographers, and Newborn Safety is my top priority during sessions. I will always ensure that your baby is safe and comfortable. However, I always encourage parents to let me know if I am suggesting a prop or pose that they do not like or feel safe with. Many of my Newborn images are created using a process called composite photography. This means a photograph is taken of your baby laying on a bed or flat surface and this image is put together with a digital backdrop in Photoshop. Babies never hang in props in this studio.
You are welcome to bring other people to the session; however, the studio only has seating for 3 adults. The studio is kept very warm to make your baby comfortable and sleepy, and can sometimes feel a little too warm for the adults in the room. We have a waiting area with Foxtel and Netflix and other family members are welcome to wait in this area. Children are welcome to play in our garden if supervised by a responsible adult. Newborn babies are very sensitive to their surroundings. I have found that in the sessions where many extended family members attend, the baby can be more unsettled. We encourage parents to consider this when inviting other family members to the session.
Upon booking your newborn session with Imy & Me Photography, I will send you a booklet outlining what to bring, wear and do. I will also call you prior to your session to go through these questions and answer any other questions you might have.
